Vraylar vs. Seroquel

Vraylar(cariprazine) andSeroquel(quetiapine) areantipsychoticmedications indicated for the treatment ofschizophreniaandbipolar disorder.

Seroquel is also usedinthe treatment ofmajor depression.

Side effectsof Vraylar and Seroquel that are similar includenausea, vomiting, sleepiness/drowsiness, weight gain,headache,insomnia,stomach/abdominal pain,constipation,dry mouth, anddizziness.

Side effects of Vraylar that are different from Seroquel include extrapyramidal symptoms (musclespasms, muscle rigidity,tremor, jerking movements), agitation, indigestion, restlessness,toothache,anxiety,diarrhea,painin the extremities, loss of appetite,back pain, andcough.

Side effects of Seroquel that are different from Vraylar include mood or behavior changes, upset stomach,lightheadedness,tiredness,sore throat,breastswelling ordischarge, missedmenstrualperiods, and increased appetite.

Both Vraylar and Seroquel may interact withantifungalmedications.

Vraylar may also interact with CYP3A4 inducers (such asrifampinandcarbamazepine).

Seroquel may also interact withalcohol, steroids,cimetidine,thioridazine,lorazepam, medicines for infections,asthmamedications, medications forheartproblems,high blood pressuremedicines,antidepressants, drugs to treat mental illness,cancermedications,malariadrugs, andHIVmedications.

Side effects of Vraylar include:

Vraylar (cariprazine) is anatypicalantipsychotic indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia, and theacutetreatment ofmanicor mixed episodes associated withbipolar I disorder.

Seroquel (quetiapine) is apsychotropic medicationused to treat schizophrenia in adults and children who are at least 13 years old. Seroquel is also used in the treatment ofmajordepressionand bipolar disorder.

Vraylar may interact with CYP3A4 inducers and inhibitors. Tell yourdoctorall medications and supplements you use.

Seroquel may interact with other drugs that make you sleepy (cold orallergymedicine, sedatives,narcoticpain medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures or anxiety), heart orblood pressuremedications, antibiotics, antidepressants, antifungal medications, HIV/一个IDSmedicines,migraine headachemedicines, orseizure medications.

Seroquel may also interact with medications to treat帕金森病, steroids,anti-malaria medications, heart rhythm medicines, and other medicines to treatpsychiatricdisorders.

The starting dose of Vraylar is 1.5mgonce daily.

Dosing preparations are 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, and 400 mg tablets.
