Vistaril may interact with probenecid.

How Should Vistaril Be Taken?

The recommended dose of Vistaril for treating itch (pruritus) is 25mg, 3 or 4 times daily. For sedation, the recommended dose is 50 to 100 mg. The dose to treat anxiety and tension is 50 to 100 mg 4 times daily. Vistaril may interact with other medicines that make you sleepy (such as cold or allergy medicine, sedatives, narcotic pain medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression, or anxiety). Tell your doctor allprescriptionand over-the-counter medications and supplements you use. Vistaril is not recommended for use duringpregnancy. It could harm thefetus. Discussbirth controlwith your doctor. It is unknown if this medication passes intobreast milkor if it could harm anursingbaby. Consult your doctor beforebreastfeeding.

How Should Zyrtec Be Taken?

Adults and children 6 years and over should take one 10 mgcapsuleonce daily; do not take more than one 10 mg capsule in 24 hours. A 5 mg product may be appropriate for less severe symptoms.

Adults 65 years of age or older, children under 6 years of age, and consumers withliverorkidneydiseaseshould consult a doctor before using this product.
