Commonside effectsof Tussionex include:

• lightheadedness,
• dizziness,
• drowsiness,
• trouble concentrating,
• mood changes,
• anxiety,
• blurred vision,
• constipation,
• nausea,
• vomiting,
• loss of appetite,
• dry mouthorthroat,
• sweating,
• itchingorskinrash, and
• disturbed coordination.

Contact yourdoctorif you have serious side effects of Tussionex including:

• shallowbreathing,
• chesttightness,
• painful ordifficult urination,
• mental/mood changes (such asdepression, agitation, confusion, hallucinations),
• stomach/abdominal pain,
• fast/slow/irregular heartbeat, or
• unusual behavior.

Common side effects of Hycodan include:

• nausea due to the use of hydrocodone, which usually goes away after the first few doses.

Other side effects of Hycodan include:

• lightheadedness,

• constipation, or
• skin itching or rash.

Hycodan (hydrocodone bitartrate and homatropine methylbromide) is a combination of a narcotic cough medicine and a medicine that works against the narcotic to prevent an overdose used to treat cough.

Tussionex may interact with other drugs that can cause sleepiness (narcotics, sleeping pills,musclerelaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression or anxiety), any other cold or allergy medicines,atropine,benztropine, dimenhydrinate, methscopolamine,scopolamine, bronchodilators,glycopyrrolate, mepenzolate,bladderorurinarymedications, irritablebowelmedications, or MAO inhibitors. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use.

Hycodan may interact with other medicines that make you sleepy (such as cold or allergy medicine, sedatives, narcotic pain medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression, or anxiety). Tell your doctor all medications you use.

Tussionex usual dose is 5 ml twice a day.

The dose of Hycodan for adults and children 12 years and older is onetabletor 5 mL (1 tsp) of theoralsolution every 4 to 6 hours as needed; do not exceed six tablets or 30 mL (6 tsp)in24 hours. Consult your doctor forpediatricdosing.
