Smooth muscle:Along withskeletalandcardiac muscle, one of the types ofmuscletissueinthe body.Smooth musclegenerally forms the supporting tissue ofbloodvessels and hollow internal organs, such as thestomach,intestine, andbladder. It is considered smooth because it does not have themicroscopiclines (the striations) seen in the other two types of muscle.
