The word "pathology" is sometimes misused to mean disease as, for example, "he didn't find any pathology" (meaning he found no evidence of disease). A medicaldoctorthat specializesinpathology is called apathologist. Pathologists are experts at interpretingmicroscopicviews of body tissues.
