Definition of Retina

Retina:Theretinais thenervelayer that lines the back of theeye, senses light, and creates impulses that travel through theoptic nerveto thebrain. There is a small area, called themacula,inthe retina that contains special light-sensitive cells. The macula allows us to see fine details clearly.
